Once you pry it off it allows vapors to leak out causing a sweet smell in the garage and with that allows the product to evaporate. Another issue is that if the pail is knocked over its a pain to clean up, waist a lot of money and not to mention the stuff isn't the healthiest to breath in. That's why I recommend the Locking lid - Vestil LID-STL-LL Steel Lever Lock Pail Lid, for 5 gallon, Black It costs about $20 with shipping but worth the investment as your already spending a fair amount of money on the Chem-Dip.My complaint is with the lid not the product so the product gets the five stars it deserves.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.I HAVE USED BERRYMANS PARTS CLEANER FOR 20 YEARS.I BUY IT BECAUSE ITS THE BEST CLEANER ON THE MARKET.IT SEEMS TO WORK BETTER AFTER THE FIRST TWO OR THREE CARBURETORS.I ALWAYS BUY THE 5 GALLON PAIL TO USE THE BASKET.AN OVERNIGHT SOAK WILL DO THE BEST JOB.
0 of 2 people found the following review helpful. This is a wretched product that probably in reality is some type of industrial waste that some greedy corporate executive figured out how to package and sell . Not only does it not clean carburetors or other components after lengthy soaking but the horrible stench it emits is all but impossible to get off your parts or anything that gets near it . The best part of the B-9 experience is pouring it down the drain which I'm sure is illegal in most developed areas. The EPA would have a hey day with the guys that sell this rubbish.
