Product Description
Developed for leading German car makers, Kristall Klar is 100 times more concentrated than typical blue washer fluid. Each dose, when mixed with regular tap water, makes 1 gallon of highly effective washer fluid that easily removes road grime, bugs and dirt without causing smearing or glare that can impair driving. Reduces wiper blade wear and tear, eliminates skipping and shuddering. It is ammonia-free so it won't harm chrome, paintwork, rubber or plastic. It is safe for use with plastic headlights. The water softeners prevent mineral build-up in the washer system for optimum operation. It is biodegradable and phosphate-free. It has a fresh citrus scent. Each bottle makes 7 gallons. Please note: It is not rated for freezing. Please use einszett anti-frost washer fluid with freeze protection during winter months.

Using the wipers and washer fluid while driving just turns them into blurry streaks all over the glass. It gets so bad that sometimes we can't wait between gas fills to scrub them all off, especially on long road trips. I bought this to use with a sponge to clean the windshield each night in the motel parking lot- just a few drops of concentrate with some water in a hotel trash can, scrub, rinse with the rest of the water and run the wipers or use a small squeegee. It foams up and dissolves the bug residue without much effort with the sponge. It's so good that I'm going to start using it as intended. Even without scrubbing it works better than the premixed stuff sold by the gallon.Don't mix it too strong; it's not necessary and could leave a soap residue which is annoying in the glare of a rising sun or oncoming headlights.

It cleans w/o leaving residue or streaks but unfortunately you have to switch to no freeze fluids in winter. No big deal except you will realize how bad the regular stuff is in comparison. I am using the Rain-X pink fluid now b/c of the bad weather here in Virginia this winter(2010). Yes it does not freeze but it streaks very badly and causes the wiper blades to shudder from the residue left on the glass. I will be switching back ASAP. Another benefit to 1Z is you can keep the small bottle in your car and just buy a gallon of distilled water when you need to refill. No big bottles to deal with any more or over expensive washer fluid. One little 1Z makes about 8 gallons vs. the $3.50 I paid for 1 gallon of Rain-X at Target (on sale).
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful.I have been looking all over for a decent window washer fluid that cleans well and dries off fast (like the kind you get when you take your car into the dealerships for service) and comes in concentrate form so that it is easy to store. This product does it all. After mixing the concentrate with water and pouring it into the car I am happy to report that this fluid works just as well as the stuff you expect from the dealership (minus the price tag). Moreover, the bottle design is ingenious in that the top is a measuring cup of sorts which allows you to ensure that the batch you make is correctly proportioned, that is, if you are making a whole gallon. Which leads me up to just one tiny gripe. I wish the top measuring cup had a notch for 1/3 or 1/2 or some other marking so that if people didn't want to make a whole gallon it would be easier to measure. On the other hand, as a Southern Californian, I haven't had any problems with this in the heat or cold. All in all a great product at a great price. Highly recommended for those who want a true window washer fluid that works well.
