Product Description

Rshield protection film is a designed to protect and tint or smoke your headlights, tail lights, fog lights or just about any other light with an optically clear non-permanent adhesive giving your vehicle an aggressive look while not significantly changing the output color of your lights. How to apply Rshield Light Film: Measure the light area of your vehicle where the film is going to be applied. Take into consideration any bends or compound curves that may need the material to bend when wrapping. Choose the most applicable size. A Tailor's Tape works well when measuring. With the properly sized film selected, simply mist the film and light with the recommended application solution, apply it over the light, heat the film with a hair dryer, apply it to the light with a squeegee or other hard card and trim away the excess. If it sounds hard, don't worry we provide online instructional videos. Recommended Tinting Tools? We recommends the use of an application squeegee which will reduce air bubbles during installation and aide in heat conforming the tint to your light. By using a low friction sleeve, you will reduce the chance of scratching your light cover film during application. Application solutions such as Rapid Clear will remove any dirt or debris from your lights and Rapid Tac will aide in the wet application of our adhesive backed tint kits. Rshield protection film vs. Rshield Protection film: Protection Tints are generally made from a 17mil - 20mil (.017"" - .020"") thick film. Rshield protection film is made from a transparent vinyl which is 3mil (.003"") thick and designed to change the shade of the light housing, but not protect it. Rshield Film vs. Pre-Cut Rshield Kits: Rshield protection film is sold by the sheet and it is designed to be trimmed-to-fit to the light housing. Pre-Cut tint kits are pre-cut in the shape of a model specific light and come ready to be applied.

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful.Experience: Automotive painter, window film installer, all around diy car enthusiast.Application: A customers car, 2011 Chevy Corvette, head lights and Fog Lights.Pre-install, initial thoughts of the product: It seemed very thick, to a point where I thought Installation would be tricky, but I did want to make sure it would protect against rock chips, as this is what the customer was concerned with. Further, since I did not order a laser cut kit, I was worried about how cutting it to size would affect the look of the finished product as well as the installation.Install comments: Installs VERY easily. My first impression was that the thickness would make the instal harder, it seems that the thickness actually made it much easier. The film was able to be stretched much further and with more ease because of its thickness. Also, creases and bubbles were nothing to worry about with the thickness allowing you to push rather hard with the card. (NOTE: Make sure you use a felt edged install card or wrap a micro-fiber towel around the card or the film will scratch!) With a heat gun and about and hour of my time the film went on nicely (much less frustrating than window films).Initial impressions on looks right after install: The film was a bit scratched from the install process AND it was VERY cloudy throughout the lens, but the directions say to wait 48 hours for this to go away, I was hesitant at first, because it was very noticeably cloudy and this was a $60k vehicle I was installing it on.Impressions after 72 hours: Looks fantastic! All the cloudiness has gone, and you literally cannot even tell the film is there, which, in my opinion, is the mark of a great film (and most things you put on a car for that matter). ALSO, to my surprise I was able to buff out the scratches from the film (not sure this is recommended, but having a lot of experience with a buffer, I had to give it a try). Looks amazing, and I highly recommend it!After 1 month of use: I work on this customers car frequently so I was able to see how the film was holding up after a month. Still cant tell its there and its working out great. A couple hits on the fog lights from rocks and the lights are un-damaged since the film absorbed the energy of the impact instead of the plastic.BOTTOM LINE: Its a no brainer, Lights on most newer cars cost at least a couple hundred, or in the case of this 'vette' around $1000 so why not spend $30 to protect your lights! Truly a great product and I highly recommend it. I will try to update after a year or so and let you know the condition of the film after some real use!

Material is thick but easy to cut and apply to the surface. These went on my foglights and have been there for a few weeks. I will give this product 5 stars when it has been in use a little longer to test the durability.
