21 of 22 people found the following review helpful.I honestly had a few doubts that this would work as well as advertised. But it does. I live in NC so our water is not very hard, but it's hard enough to leave water spots if I don't thoroughly dry my cars. And I wash cars often. So I got this thing, it was totally assembled, I just hooked it up to the faucet and put my hose on the other end. Can't get any simpler than that. Washed the car, carefully rinsed it off to get all of the soap, and then I just left it alone overnight. The next morning I carefully checked every panel on my very black car and there was not a spot to be found. Same with the glass - perfectly clean and spotless. This product is great! Now how long it will last before you need to replace the resin material depends on how hard your water is, so I'll keep track of that and try to remember to update this review. If you have the money to spend (and it is expensive) I think you'll be very happy with the results. BTW I did a lot of shopping on these things before I bought it, and this Amazon price cannot be beat. There is a larger unit that includes a refill that you can get through Costco, but I didn't see the need for the larger unit so there were no savings there. Go through the manufacturer directly for resin refills.----- Update on 2/15/2013 -----I don't use this much, only when it's really cold. I can see the PPM meter rising every time I use it, so I'm seeing that the life of the media is not very long. I used this yesterday for the eleventh time and the PPM meter has now died and just shows zero. Last time it worked it read 38, which is a bit high. I had a few water spots after the car dried, so I suspect that it's only good for a few more washes. Cost per wash will probably end up being around five dollars, depending on what kind of deal you can get on the media refill. Again, this will vary depending on how hard your water is where you live.

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful.I recently purchased a black 991 Carrera-S and was quickly disheartened by my color choice: this is my first black car and I wasn't aware how important water quality is when it comes to maintaining a black finish. The water coming from my spigot turned out to be much more harmful than I'd first realized: the water I missed with the waffle-weave towel after the first washing actually dried into white spots that began etching into the glass and the clear-coat. Pretty scary stuff to say the least! I was lucky enough to be able to remove all of these toxic spots before they did any permanent damage. So the research began, and after many hours of visiting various detailing forums, I found out exactly what I needed and located the DI-120 right here on Amazon. The price was right and delivery was fast and free. This unit is priceless to me, because the results are simply stunning. I rinse the car, lather it down with a Chemical Guys washing Mitt and CWS_301 Citrus Wash car-wash solution, then rinse. The car drys with an incredible spot-free sheen. Amazing!I should also mention that I'd removed all the white spots with Nu Finish Liquid Car Polish, and then sealed the entire car with Finish Kare 1000P Hi-Temp Paste Wax, which is also available on Amazon.

14 of 17 people found the following review helpful.I get about 12-14 washes out of the filter material which runs $45 per refill for this single 20" filter. It works fine on my orange car, red truck, but leaves spots on my black car. The monitor says it's working as it shows the TDS at zero. It is better than nothing, for the 5th wash on the black car I'm going to try air drying it down the interstate.Update air drying by driving down the interstate worked good only had a few small streaks on the back bumper.
