My black car is fairly new, and after using this wax, it has a very deep, glossy shine. This wax is strongly recommended for new cars. If your car has a lot of oxidation or scratches, you need a different product. You would need a light or moderate polishing compound, but these are not easy to apply. You could ruin your clearcoat or your base color if you are not careful
